How Capitalism is Failing Art
One big failure of capitalism in its current form is the way it handles art - music, films, video games, etc.
Capitalism treats art as if it is a commodity or a product the same way as laundry detergent, medical supplies, or vegetables. But the same rules that apply to those kinds of products don't apply to art, and capitalism is making a mistake by trying to apply them.
Think, for example, about how a capitalist would measure the overall efficiency of the art "industry". If you were measuring the efficiency of the food industry, it's quite easy - if you're getting the most amount of viable food possible to the most amount of people possibl
I Wish I Was Powerful
I wish I had unlimited power, and I could just make all of reality exactly the way I wanted it. I wish that when I got angry about something, the people I was angry at would be absolutely crapping themselves in sheer terror and would instantly back down and do what I want. I wish that everything and everyone I loved and cared about would be revered and protected by all, and everything that was important to me would be safe forever, because I was strong enough to protect it.
I Wrote A Rap
It's pretty bad. I also recorded it with a potato.

I think we all feel that way sometimes. I know I do. It's not like no one's worried. But being worried makes more problems. You have to either figure out how to solve them or pretend they don't exist, so that you can cope.
As I get older, I just find myself getting more and more upset about everything and that really just doesn't help. Just remember, lots of people are working on solving these problems, step by step. You can't see them and they don't tell you about them unless they screw up, because that's how the media is. (I mean, come on, Ebola was around for decades and they only started making a fuss about it when it hit America!) But that doesn't mean no one's watching or everything's going to hell. Half the time, the media is just exaggerating to make it sound interesting, so...
Not sure about the whole civilisation thing though. No matter how big a civilisation is it will all fall. But that's not always a bad thing. It's just change. And the fall of a civilisation is not necessarily destruction. Sometimes it's just renewal or a shift in power. But that's not really connected to the issues you're talking about.
Even if there's a nuclear disaster or something that wipes out the majority of life on Earth, microorganisms will survive and evolution will start again. We'll be gone, yeah, but I'm not sure that's necessarily a bad thing, considering what we're doing...
I don't even know where I'm going with this, I'm sorry, I'm just really thinking out loud about what you're saying...
