Every hope,
Every fear,
Every laugh,
Every tear...
On this planet

Every joke,
Every speech,
Every forest,
Every beach...
On this planet.

Every life,
Every death,
Every beat,
Every breath...
On this planet.

Every fight,
Every war,
Every deadly
Carnivore...
On this planet.

All the tribes,
Pointless pride.
Every theft,
Homocide...
On this planet

But we can win,
We can change,
Peace is within
Our range...
On this planet.

We have to stop
The pointless fights.
People of the
World unite...
On this planet.

For endless riches,
Endless feasts;
All we need
Is endless peace...
On this planet.

Earth, the world, everything you know and love...
This planet is your home and you can make a difference.

My view is that if the world could cut down on military spending, we could easily use those resources and that money to fix poverty, stop climate change, and improve health education and save the economy, as well as increase science funding and inhabit and use space.
It frustrates me to no end seeing people spending so much money, time, and ultimately lives on fighting each other, when we could be making the world a beautiful, clean, free, peaceful and fair place for all instead.
So I made this :3

I don't believe in peace. No matter how much we hope and pray and plead for peace and solutions to all the worlds problems, there will always be cynics like me who just wanna watch the world burn. There will always be conflict, no matter how small. And it doesn't take much for something small to snowball into something big. Like the assassination of archduke franz ferdinand causing ww1.
It'd be nice if everyone could get along. But let's face it. People get bored. And when they get bored they pick fights.

I have never started a fight out of plain boredom. That's just pathetic.

That's not necessarily what I meant. I meant more like humanity as a whole. Like countries getting bored and starting wars. If individual people did that I agree it would be pathetic.

Countries getting bored? That's even more screwed up.
You know what though, we could play on human psychology instead of trying to change it. Why don't we declare 'war' on poverty, or 'war' on climate change, instead of war on different countries?

That's like the number one argument antiwar hippies make everytime a new war pops up. I really wish we would declare war on all those things, the problems that really matter, but I just don't see it happening. But we can all hope.

Well hoping for change is about as useful as sitting under the stars and hoping to fly to the moon. We have to get up and do something, anything as a species.
The best solution would be a global government, but somehow I doubt anyone will do that.
However it's not the only solution.
If we haven't managed to cut our pollution dramatically by 2030, the climate will be beyond our control, so we need to act quickly, the technological singularity, which may save us, won't happen until at least 2050, so that isn't what we're looking for.
Some kind of economic reason is obviously going to be the only thing, and I can see it staring us in the face. At the moment Earth is running out of resources, and gaining people, but everything outside of Earth is the same as it was at the dawn of civilization. There is much more oil on moons and asteroids than there is in the middle east. So if the money being spent on fighting over these small amounts of oil was spent on getting control of space, then the government would make far more money.
And at the moment Saturn is 10 years away, but that time will probably be cut to 2 years at the most if enough time and money is invested in science.
